OOTD: HEAT

Hi guys! Summer officially started this past weekend, so of course I'm elated! You might've noticed I'm missing a bit of hair, I chopped it off! It was more of a spur of the moment, "if I don't do it now I'll never do it" kind of thing. I'm glad I did! I feel super bold and its allowing me to be bolder with my wardrobe as well.

One thing I love about the summer, is the fashion. I really appreciate when I see a well dressed person in the summer! Maybe it's just me, but I hate seeing someone in a nice outfit that's inappropriate for the weather. Have you ever seen someone (in whatever season) and thought "I KNOW they're cold/hot!" But I digress. With today's OOTD, I wanted to be cute but comfortable. There was no way I'd wanna be overdressed in this weather, but I didn't wanna be half naked either. Can you understand my conflict here?!

Today I opted for a printed racerback tank and black pleated culottes. Culottes are a trend from the 70s, but you might remember them from the early 2000s as "gauchos". They are flared shorts that usually stop mid calf. I mentioned these in an earlier post, and I wanted to bring them to life for y'all!  These black culottes were made from silk, so the wind passed straight through.  I didn't want to wear any clingy clothing so these culottes were the way to go.

This printed racerback tank was polyester, but loose fitting and barely there so I wasn't too hot. I do not suggest polyester in the summertime. Polyester doesn't "breathe" the way cotton and linen does. I wrapped up today's fit with my ride or die black "Proto" pumps from Steve Madden and very minimal accessories from HM.

Stay cool my friends!

 Love, Evelyn
