IV Girls: Sip & Paint RECAP!
Invest in the Value of our Girls (or IV Girls) is a non profit organization that I'm super proud to be part of. Founded by Schaina Gilot, RN, BSN, the mission of IV Girls is to instill a love of learning and passion for service inside of the young women we will be working with. This includes resume build-up, internship help, financial advisory etc. Our goal is to raise money to grant our recipients with scholarships in March 2018. In order to reach this goal, the our Board of Directors, (or IV League) will be hosting various fundraisers, networking events and mixers. Our very first fundraiser was "Sip & Paint" at Pinot's Palette in Park Slope, Brooklyn.
Everyone in attendance planted a seed and trusted IV Girls to take our vision to the next level. This first event has given us a solid platform to help us make a notable name for ourselves with in our communities. None of us are proclaimed Picassos but we all had a little Basquiat inside of us as we got to work on our "Stepping Out" painting.
Everyone is their own worst critic, but throughout the event there were a lot of "I like yours!" or "That looks soo good!" from everybody! While it seemed like a lot of work, our instructors Nicole and Terry made it as simple as possible to create our masterpieces. Thank God they were super patient with any of us who needed some catching up to do. With the music bumping, and drinks pouring, good vibes came from every direction.
On behalf of the entire IV League we want to thank EVERYONE who came to support IV Girls' first fundraiser. You all are some of the dopest, kind-hearted individuals and are the embodiment of who IV Girls represent and are working to give back to. We're excited to continue creating a platform for you all to be the best versions of yourselves! For more photos, click here.
