OOTD: CurlFest!

Top: Necessary Clothing

Skirt: ZARA

Necklace: HM

Over the weekend, I attended the 3rd annual CurlFest in Brooklyn, New York! Curlfest turned Prospect Park into the Mecca of all things natural hair and like most of these melanated summer festivals, the cameras are out, so looking cute was a must!  The sun was shining, I was with my favorite curlfriends and we were ready to have fun!

I wore an off-the-shoulder top with bell capped sleeves that is easily one of my favorite summer pieces of the year so far. Its so feminine, sexy and chic. Off-the-shoulder styles have been trending for some time now and I finally got my hands on one that I really adored, that I could afford! The really beautiful tops were going for $80+ and as a thrifter, that was way to much to spend on ONE top, that might not even be trending next Summer.

This denim pencil skirt from Zara was a great find! I cant believe '00 church skirts are trending! I remember when I only wore denim skirts for evening service at church because there was no other option! Denim skirts used to be part of the "Haitian girl Starter kit" and there I was in Zara watching it fly off the rack. Even my sister thought I pulled it out of our basement!

This fit was sweet, fun, and perfect for a day in the park. I wonder what I'll wear to next year's Curlfest..
